Description
The Stellar S190 is a high-performance, hybrid bolt-on turbocharger engineered for the EA211 1.0 TSI engines. The upgraded CHRA at the heart of this upgrade is manufactured and VSR-balanced in the United Kingdom under ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management standards. It features a robust 360-degree thrust bearing, designed to handle high-boost applications with ease.
The OEM turbine and compressor housings are precisely CNC-machined to accommodate a larger 5+5 split-blade billet compressor wheel and an 8-blade mixed-flow turbine. This optimized combination supports upto 190+ HP and 270+ Nm of torque on the dyno—even with the stock exhaust! For maximum performance, upgraded fueling and supporting modifications are recommended.
Please note: We require your existing turbocharger to complete this upgrade. Your turbo will be disassembled, thoroughly inspected, CNC machined, and reassembled with the new CHRA. The old CHRA from your turbo will be returned to you.
Balanced Performance for Street and Track
The S190 is carefully designed to deliver a perfect balance of responsiveness and power, making it equally enjoyable on the street or track. With near-stock spool times and a smooth torque curve, it provides an engaging and dynamic driving experience.
Sized to match stock engine internals and control systems, this turbo has been rigorously developed using the stock factory exhaust and 95 RON fuel. While an aftermarket exhaust will increase horsepower further, it may result in a slight reduction in peak torque

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will fitting this turbo damage my engine?
A: No, the S190 is engineered to work seamlessly with the stock engine internals. However, for optimal reliability, we recommend proper tuning and ensuring your vehicle is well-maintained. Exceeding recommended power levels or ignoring supporting modifications may increase wear on your engine.
Q: Is it suitable for automatic/torque converter transmissions?
A: Yes, the S190 is fully compatible with automatic and torque converter transmissions. It has been extensively tested on our development car with this transmission to ensure smooth performance.
Q: Is this turbo Bolt-On?
A: Yes, the S190 is a direct-fit bolt-on upgrade. It requires no permanent modifications to your engine or vehicle, making installation straightforward.
Q: Do I need to make any other modifications?
A: While the S190 works absolutely fine with stock components, supporting modifications such as upgraded fueling, intake, and intercooler are recommended to maximize performance and reliability. An aftermarket exhaust can also improve horsepower but may slightly lower peak torque. Our development Polo 1.0 Tsi was tested extensively with a completely standard exhaust and intake.
Q: Do I need to remap my ECU?
A: Yes, a custom ECU remap is strongly recommended to take full advantage of the S190’s potential. Proper tuning ensures optimal performance, fuel efficiency, and reliability.
Q: Will this work with my existing Stage 1 or Stage 2 tune?
A: Compatibility depends on your existing tune. A custom calibration specifically for the S190 is recommended to achieve optimal results, even if you already have a Stage 1 or Stage 2 tune.
Q: Who will install and remap this for me?
A: The S190 can be installed by any qualified automotive technician or workshop. For remapping, we recommend working with professional tuners experienced with the EA211 1.0 TSI engine. We can also connect you with trusted tuning partners.
Q: What is the warranty?
A: The turbocharger’s CHRA is covered by a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects. Note that warranty claims require proof of proper installation and tuning.
Q: Why do the different dyno charts have different horsepower figures?
A: Dyno figures vary due to factors such as altitude, temperature, humidity, dyno calibration, and testing protocols. Even identical cars can produce slightly different numbers on the same dyno. For consistency, compare relative gains rather than absolute values.
Q: Will it affect my fuel economy?
A: Fuel economy depends on driving style and tuning. In normal driving conditions, the S190 can maintain fuel efficiency similar to the stock turbocharger. However, during spirited driving or under high-boost conditions, fuel consumption may increase. Proper tuning ensures a balance between performance and economy.
